The School has two spacious fully equipped air conditioned studios with two separate dressing rooms. A folding sound absorbing partition which separates both studios can be opened to provide one large space for rehearsals and demonstrations. The wood floors in both studios have a unique support arrangement to act as a shock absorber, preventing strain and injury to tendons, muscles and joints, and are covered with a specialized cushioned non-slip dance surface .
In 2006, The Oakville School of Dance opened a studio at the Glen Abbey Recreation Centre, 1415 Third Line, Oakville , offering classical ballet classes involving the same teachers and high standards as the downtown location has for the past 48 years. Students at the Glen Abbey location also have the opportunity of dancing with the Oakville Ballet Company in the Spring Evening of Dance.
The Oakville School of Dance is in the midst of planning a second story addition to our historical building in downtown Oakville . To accommodate the training of the students involved in the Pre-Professional, Professional, and Company Training Programmes, the new addition will accommodate 3 new studios, office space, bigger dressing rooms, audio-visual room and library, and a lunchroom. We are very excited about our upcoming renovations, which will further enhance the experience of the students, and the level of training gained at The Oakville School of Dance.
